Avoca have worked to combine the relevant skills and experience from all their Data Analysts to develop a SQL training course for NHS Health Informatics professionals, or those with an interest in this area. The resulting course is a set of 3 bite size courses and workshops that provide the trainee with a complete set of skills to allow them to analyse and report on complex datasets.

This complete course has recently been accredited by the UKCHIP Education Quality Assurance Scheme and can now be found on the UKCHIP Register of Accredited Learning.

It is built from three of Avoca’s existing courses that have already won high praise from NHS organisations

The courses can be complete over any length of time and are designed to aid the CPD of NHS staff. We have a recommended break down of the course below to stagger the learning:

3 Day SQL Foundation

This is a three day course which will give delegates a broad understanding of data analysis using SQL. A solid foundation for any one who needs to use SQL. It covers the contents of the Starter, Information Analyst and Data Quality Courses over 3 days. Please see the relevant tab on the left of this page for full course details.

2 Day SQL Advanced

The course covers topics such as existence checks, CASE statements and variables. This course would be useful for delegates who have a requirement for knowing how to construct complex queries involving joins to many tables whilst considering different types of data.

3 Day SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)

The Report Builder course is designed for users who wish to advance their skills in using SQL Server as a reporting resource. Report Builder is typically used as both an ad-hoc reporting mechanism, and to create permanent reports to be hosted on Reporting Services.
